Band Directors & Colorgaurd
A graduate of Baylor University, Patrick Guzman earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree in 2019. While at Baylor, he performed clarinet in the Wind Ensemble, with the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, Opera Theatre, and Saxophone in the Baylor Concert Jazz Ensemble.
He served additionally on the leadership team of the Golden Wave Band and as a counselor for Baylor’s Summer Music Camp programs.
Before student teaching at Round Rock High School, he developed 6-12 grade clarinet studios in both Houston and Waco, and was active as a guest clinician. While at Round Rock, he co-directed the JV Marching band and assisted with the BOA Grand National finalist varsity marching band.
Patrick grew up in Katy, Texas where he began playing clarinet in the 6th grade as a student at James E. Taylor High School. In addition to multiple performances at TMEA, he has performed at conventions of the International Clarinet Association (ICA), at the College Band Directors National Association Conference (CBDNA), and in masterclasses for distinguished pedagogues such as Patrick Morgan, Kenneth Grant, and Dr. Cecilia Kang. He holds professional memberships with the Texas Music Educators Association, International Clarinet Association, National Association for Music Education, and is a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Patrick is one of the CFISD clarinet choir directors, leading the ensemble to performances at TMEA. He is also dedicated to fostering the next generation of musicians as he helps teach the Clarinet beginner class at Rowe and Thornton Middle Schools.
In his free time, Patrick enjoys going out for runs, cooking, and listening to jazz.
